Princess Katherine

This is my niece Katie dressed as a flower girl when she was asked to be a part of a wedding party. Her costume is a reproduction of an 18 cc child's garment. Prior to the 20 cc century there was no distinction between adult and children's clothes. Therefore children from that time were dressed as little adults.  Keeping in the spirit of the times when fabrics played a dual role as both upholstery and fashion fabric, we used a heavy gold and green brocade for this purpose.
Her stomacher is made of gold chantilly lace, trimmed with gold silk jacquard bows.  The dressed is embroidered throughout with iridescent  Swarovsky crystals. Katie wears a gold chantilly lace mop hat on her head trimmed with a peacock feather.
