Medieval Gambeson

A Gambeson is an article of clothing worn by medieval soldiers during battle. It can be worn alone or under armor and could be constructed with heavy wool or linen and then stuffed using a hand quilting technique. In this picture we can see our very own web guy Stacy Clifford wearing a Gambeson which we developed for his activities with the Association for Renaissance Martial Arts (ARMA). The garment is designed with both comfort and protection in mind, which allows the wearer ease of movement during battle. Notice how Stacy is able to wield his mighty sword as he ponders world domination!
